1. Why did you decide to read this book?
I decided to read this book because it's a really good movie. Even though the book and the movie are different they are great. I love stories about love. I also was told by many people to rad it. I am glad I listened because it's a great story.
2. Plot Summary
Noah first met Allie when he was seventeen and she was only fifteen. They knew at first sight that they would be together forever and indeed they were. Every waking moment that summer they were together. She liked to paint and he read poetry. Both artists in different forms. Then the summer ended and they were forced to separate. Years down the road Allie is engaged and Noah is living with Allie's ghost. Allie returns to New Burn because she know she must see Noah one last time before she gets married. But she must choose between her first love and the guy she knows will always be able to support her.
3. What is the setting, and why is it important to the novel.
The Story takes place in New Burn, North Carolina. It's a small town where everyone knows everyone and is truly a beautiful. You have beautiful summers at the beach, colorful falls, Once in a while a snow storm in the winter, and warm springs. It's important because the characters spend alot of time outside on the water and under the trees. It's where my dream place to live would be.
4. Who are the main characters. and what roles do they play in the novel?
Allie is from a wealthy family and above the rest. She is an artist and dreams about love. Noah didn't have the money but he sure made up for that with his heart. He read poetry because when he was little he used to stutter so his dad made him read it. The wise words of the many poets truly sculpted him and made him a hopeless romantic.
5. What is the main conflict in the novel?
The main conflict is Noah and Allie's love for each other. Allie is engaged when she comes back to Noah. They fall in love all over again and spend three days together. But soon reality checked in and she realized she had to pick between Noah and Lon. She hoped her heart would help guide her to the right man.

6. Describe the climax of the novel.
The climax was when Allie had to choose who she was going to go with. She didn't know if she wanted her first love Noah or her other love Lon. They were both great men and she loved them both dearly. She didn't want to disappoint everyone that were happy for her and Lon. At the same time she knew what her and Noah had and still have is true.
7. What is the significance of the book's title? Is the title appropriate, or would you change it to something else?
The title is perfect! Noah wrote a notebook for Allie when he learned that she has Alzheimer's. He would read it to her in hopes that her memories of him would return. And sometimes she would remember but only for a brief moment. Even though the doctors could never figure how her memory came back, Noah knew it was their love for each other.
8. What is my opinion about the book? Why (give specifics)
I absolutely love this book! I would recommend it to everyone. You can feel their love for each other. Nicholas Sparks has a way to pull you into his books and not let go. If you don't like love stories though you shouldn't read this book. It just makes you feel so good when you read it.
