7. What is the significance of the book's title? is the title appropriate, or would I change it to something else?
No I wouldn't change the title. As always Nicholas always has the perfect titles. I always wonder what the title of his books mean, but by the end I totally understand why it is called the name it is. In this book Jeremy doesn't believe in miracles and he believes everything is caused for a reason. But he learns to be a believer when he learns Lexie is pregnant when the doctors said he couldn't have children.

8. What is my opinion about this book? Why (give specifics)
This is a great book. I wish they would make it into a movie because it would be a great one. I think this is my favorite book from Nicholas Sparks yet. 12/10/07- Have you ever experienced major appliance failure in your home? What Happened?
When I was little the t.v. in my room blew up. It really made me mad because I had to buy my own one. It took me forever to get enough money to buy my new one and I didn't have a t.v. in my room forever.
12/11/07- Rudolph died (Name his replacement)
His name would be Bailey. That's my dogs name and he is the best thing ever! He is huge so I'm sure he could replace Rudolph in a heart beat. And he even has a pink nose.
12/12/07- Favorite holiday cookie?
My favorite cookie is sugar cookies. I love the kind you get in the can and cut into pieces. They are great and I could eat a whole batch.
12/14/07- What would you name a female calico kitten?
You should name it Lois. Since you like superman so much it would fit your cat. And then you could get a male cat and name it Clark.

Journals 11/26/07 - 12/7/07

11/26/07- Any adventures over break?
I went Black Friday shopping. It was crazy and I do it every year. It's my mom's favorite holiday. We got up at 2:30 a.m. and went to Altoona.

11/27/07- Is our society too sensitive?
I think people take things to seriously. People don't have to act like everything has a bad meaning. If you don't want to hear something bad cover your ears.

11/28/07- Should lit taught in high school be censored?
I don't think it should be. It's not like we don't hear it all day anyway. There is no reason to try and shield us from the world.

11/29/07- How early is too early for Christmas decorations.
It's never too early to decorate for Christmas. We decorated this year two days before Thanksgiving. It gets on my nerves though, when people leave their decorations up all year.

11/30/07- Christmas tree topper: star, angle, or other?
Personally I like a star. But at my house my mom uses a bow. I put up and decorated the whole Christmas tree all by my self this year. If it wasn't for me we wouldn't have a Christmas tree.

12/03/07- Pity the WVU fans, or revel in their misery?
I wish we would have won. I feel bad for all the fans that went out there expecting to win. I still can't believe they lost to Pitt.

12/07/07- Do you prefer a white Christmas or would you rather experience warm winter weather?
I would lover a white Christmas. I like to sit inside and watch the snow and feel warm in my house. I like to go out and play in it too.

Journals 11/5/07 - 11/9/07 and 11/13/07- 11/16/07

11/5/07- You wont the lottery. What would you but first?
I would by a car first. I have always wanted a car so bad so that's what I would get. I would get the most expensive car and the prettiest car at the dealership.

11/6/07- Lottery winner... Which of your friends/family get a chunk?
My mom and dad would be the first. They have bought me everything I have ever wanted to I want to pay them back. I would also give some to my grandparents because they are the best.

11/7/07- Lottery winner... will you still go to school/ get a job?
I would still go to school, but I wouldn't go to work because I already have enough money. I would finish school though and get my degree so I would always have something to fall back on. I would enjoy life being rich with no job.

11/8/07 - Lottery winner... would you donate to charity? Which one/ what kind?
Yes I would donate money to charity. I would donate money to the cancer foundation first. I would also donate to people over in the other countries that don't have anything.

11/9/07- Is it fair to all clubs that the bulk of KHS fundraising goes toward the sports complex?
I think it's fair. We need a sports complex the most right now and if clubs need something they can do fundraisers. The sports complex will treat millions of people and is a good thing.

11/13/07- Are the current speed limits reasonable? Or should some be raised/lowered?
I think the speed limit threw town should be raised. It should be at least forty-five mph. Traffic moves way to slow and it takes forever just to go threw town.

11/14/07- What's on the top of your Christmas list?
I want a bedroom door. I am tired of not being able to just shut myself out from the people in my house. My little brother drives me crazy so i want one to slam in his face.

11/15/07- Have you been "naughty or nice" this year?
I have had my naughty moments but I think I've been mostly nice. Everyone has their moments though so it's okay. I think I've made up for it with all the good things I've done.

11/16/07- Whats the most essential menu item in a Thanksgiving dinner?
Sauerkraut is the most essential food. I love it and you can mix it with all the other foods. I would just eat that if I had to because it's my favorite.

10/29/10- Which CW character is your favorite? Explain.
My favorite character is Jerry. I like him because he is trying to find his way. He stands up for himself even after all he has been threw and that makes me admire him. He dares to be different in a world that looks down on anyone that mixes up life.

10/30/07- If you could go back in time and change one event from your past, which one would it be and why?
I wouldn't change anything in my life. I have learned from all my mistakes and it has made me a better person. As I look back on my life I'm proud of what I have done so far. I believe there is no such thing as a mistake.

10/31/07- Promote a teacher to new principal. (Explain your choice... but be respectful of both the teacher and current principle.
I would promote Mr. Kuh. He is nice, but he can be strict when he needs to so I think he would be great. He is awesome and he is my favorite teacher. He would be the best principle ever!

11/1/07- Are you too old to trick-or-treat?
I don't think we are too old. Even though I don't anymore I think I'm still young enough to if I wanted to. I think it's alright to trick-or-treat until you graduate. Your never to old to have fun.

11/2/07- What's your dream vehicle? Explain.
My dream car is a Toyota Celica. They don't make them anymore so I would want the newest one they have. My mom and dad both had Celica's when they were teenagers. I guess you could say it runs in the family.

1. Why did you decide to read this book?
I decided to read this book because I had read the notebook and it is the sequel to it. My sister also had it in her big book selection so it was at hand. I had always wanted to read it and i figured that now would be the best time because I could use it as a synopsis. I also figured it would be good because the notebook was great. It figured it would be easy to follow because I already knew the characters.

2. Plot Summary
This story is about Wilson Lewis who just wants to show his love and dedication to his wife Jane after he forgets their twenty-ninth anniversary. He spends the whole next year planning her dream wedding that she never got because they got married in a court house because it was short notice. He went to her father Noah for advise on what he would do because he was the true hopeless romantic he wanted to be. Noah had just recently lost his wife Allie and sat by a pond everyday with a swan. He fed it everyday and he swore it was Allie in her new life. Allie always promised she would find a way back to him. When Wilson Plans the wedding he has his daughter Anna pretend it is her wedding. Then when they finally reveal the day of the wedding that it was all for her she finally realized how much Wilson did truly loved her. Also the day before the wedding the swan had gone missing which depressed Noah so bad he though maybe he was wrong all along about it being Allie. Then after all the excitement they found Noah down by a different pond. The swan had made it to the wedding and he believed again it was Allie.

3. What is the setting, and why is it important to the novel.
The setting is New Burn, North Carolina. It is an easy going town where everyone knows everyone. The weather is basically the same all year around, but you may see a snow storm every once in a while. The place is filled with love and romance. The scenery is beautiful and is like living in a post card. It is important because the wedding plans are made all around Noah's old house and that is what makes the wedding so romantic.

4. Who are the main characters. and what roles do they play in the novel?
Wilson Lewis is Jane's husband. He has the task of making Jane fall back in love with him after he forgets about their anniversary. Jane Lewis is Wilson's wife. She doesn't know if she loves Wilson because she wants someone romantic and he is far from that. She needs someone that will show her they love her. Noah Calhoun is Jane's dad. He helps Wilson with his plans to make Jane fall back in love with him again.

5. What is the main conflict in the novel?
Wilson is afraid that his wife Jane had fallen out of love with him. He has to find a way to prove to her that he still loves her. He also had to make her fall back in love with him. After he forgot their twenty-ninth anniversary things were never the same. He had the task of making her fall back in love with him so she didn't leave him.

6. Describe the climax of the novel.
The climax is when Jane's daughter Anna comes down the stairs and doesn't have her wedding dress on. Jane asks what she is doing and she revels that this was never her wedding at all. The whole time she had been planing the wedding Jane never got. That was the reason Anna let her pick out all the things she wanted. She told her that her wedding dress was upstairs waiting for her.

7. What is the significance of the book's title? Is the title appropriate, or would you change it to something else?
The title was perfect. The whole book was about planing Anna's sudden wedding. But then you find out that the wedding plans have been in process all year. Also the wedding wasn't even for Anna it was for Jane and they just told her that so she wouldn't get suspicious. The title was perfect because the whole book was based on marriage.

8. What is my opinion about the book? Why (give specifics)
I loved this book. It showed me that if someone really puts their heart and soul into something it can really change another person's life. It showed me that people will do anything for the person they love. No matter what it took Wilson never gave up on his plans to make Jane fall for him again. I also liked how the book made you think one thing but totally changed it all around. It was one of those really surprising endings that I love.

10/22/07- An easy class with loads of homework? A hard class with very little homework?
I would Rather have a hard class with very little homework. I hate easy classes with a lot of homework because it's like you are wasting your time on things you already know. It's so boring when you could be in a hard class learning new things.

10/23/07- Which of these decades has the best music: 60's , 70's, 80's , 90's?
I think the 90's had the best music. All the great boy and girl bands originated in the 90's. Nsync, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Hanson, And S Club Seven were the best bands. You also had Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, and Christina Aguliara.

10/24/07- Do you like to hunt? Why/why not?
No I don't really like to hunt. I could walk threw the woods but I couldn't shoot the animal. I don't think I could stay quiet that long either.

10/25/07- Nearly nine weeks into the school year has your initial new lunching opinion changed?
It doesn't bother me anymore. I think it gets everyone threw the line quicker and it works better. The only thing I don't like about it is it seems so short. I wish we only had two lunches.

10/26/07- Do you (or will you someday) play the lottery? Explain.
I probably will play the lotto. I won't go out of my way to go and by a ticket though. If I'm at a gas station I might get one, but if I'm sitting at my house I'm not just going to leave just to get a lotto ticket. I will never win anyways so whats the point.

10/15/07- What is the most annoying pet naming convention?
I hate when people name their pets after their pets after pets they had before. I hate when they are like my last dog Bob was so great I'm going to name my new dog that too. I think it doesn't feel right because I just think of the dead dog that they named the new dog after.

10/16/07- Of all the pets you have ever had... which one had the coolest name.
I have only had one pet in my whole life. His name is Bailey and he is a Golden Retriever. So I guess that's the coolest pet name.

10/18/07- Suggest three journal topic questions for future use.
We could have a journal about what our favorite movies are. We could also write about our family background. We could also write about what sports we enjoy to take participate in.

10/19/07- Great job with lousy pay? Lousy pay with great job?
I would rather have a great job with lousy pay. I couldn't stand having a job that I hated. I would get two jobs if I didn't make enough money as long as I was doing what I loved.

10/10/07- Write me a get well card/message/sentiment.
I hope you feel better Mr. Clark. I hope that your sunburn doesn't hurt to bad. Use alot of Aloe Vera and you will feel alot better.

10/11/07- Redecorating is imminent... which three framed posters should go and why?
I think the Wolverine should be taken off the wall because he isn't a cool superhero. The Green Lantern should go so you have more room for another Superman poster. Also the poster of the Flash just standing because you already have one of him running.

10/12/07- Are/were you satisfied with your first marking period performance in this class?
I'm not that happy with my grade. I think B's are okay, but I would have much rather got an A. I'm going to try harder this time because last year in Pre. AP English I got an A.

1. Why did you decide to read this book?

I decided to read this book because it's a really good movie. Even though the book and the movie are different they are great. I love stories about love. I also was told by many people to rad it. I am glad I listened because it's a great story.

2. Plot Summary

Noah first met Allie when he was seventeen and she was only fifteen. They knew at first sight that they would be together forever and indeed they were. Every waking moment that summer they were together. She liked to paint and he read poetry. Both artists in different forms. Then the summer ended and they were forced to separate. Years down the road Allie is engaged and Noah is living with Allie's ghost. Allie returns to New Burn because she know she must see Noah one last time before she gets married. But she must choose between her first love and the guy she knows will always be able to support her.

3. What is the setting, and why is it important to the novel.

The Story takes place in New Burn, North Carolina. It's a small town where everyone knows everyone and is truly a beautiful. You have beautiful summers at the beach, colorful falls, Once in a while a snow storm in the winter, and warm springs. It's important because the characters spend alot of time outside on the water and under the trees. It's where my dream place to live would be.

4. Who are the main characters. and what roles do they play in the novel?

Allie is from a wealthy family and above the rest. She is an artist and dreams about love. Noah didn't have the money but he sure made up for that with his heart. He read poetry because when he was little he used to stutter so his dad made him read it. The wise words of the many poets truly sculpted him and made him a hopeless romantic.

5. What is the main conflict in the novel?
The main conflict is Noah and Allie's love for each other. Allie is engaged when she comes back to Noah. They fall in love all over again and spend three days together. But soon reality checked in and she realized she had to pick between Noah and Lon. She hoped her heart would help guide her to the right man.

6. Describe the climax of the novel.

The climax was when Allie had to choose who she was going to go with. She didn't know if she wanted her first love Noah or her other love Lon. They were both great men and she loved them both dearly. She didn't want to disappoint everyone that were happy for her and Lon. At the same time she knew what her and Noah had and still have is true.

7. What is the significance of the book's title? Is the title appropriate, or would you change it to something else?

The title is perfect! Noah wrote a notebook for Allie when he learned that she has Alzheimer's. He would read it to her in hopes that her memories of him would return. And sometimes she would remember but only for a brief moment. Even though the doctors could never figure how her memory came back, Noah knew it was their love for each other.

8. What is my opinion about the book? Why (give specifics)

I absolutely love this book! I would recommend it to everyone. You can feel their love for each other. Nicholas Sparks has a way to pull you into his books and not let go. If you don't like love stories though you shouldn't read this book. It just makes you feel so good when you read it.

10/1/07- Did you have trouble completing the quotes assignment?
I didn't think the quotes were hard. It just took a while because it made me think. I had to think about what I wanted to write and sometimes it took me a few minutes to decide what I really wanted to write.

10/2/07- Who is your hero? ('Cause it's, you know, hero day)
My hero is Superman. I have about six Superman shirts, Pajamas, a bed comforter, two pillows, and another blanket. As you can tell I'm in love with him.

10/3/07- Critique each hallway's homecoming decor.
I think Freshman hall is really weak! Sophomore hall is the best not just because I helped decorate it and I'm a Sophomore, but because it really looks the best. The Junior hall is alright it has some neat signs but that's it. The Senior hall is boring.

10/04/07- Based on your life now... Predict your death.
I will probably die in either a car crash or of cancer. I like to ride in fast cars and drive fast so I might be in a wreck. Also my grandma died of cancer and my family has like a curse that no one lives into their fifties.

10/05/07- Homecoming game ----> Who will win? Predict the score.
I know we are going to win! It's Homecoming and the guys will be pumped and they will kill Southern. I think the score will be 28 to 7.

9/20/07- Continuing with the food theme: Which fast-food franchise should open in Keyser? Which one would you get rid of?
I think we should bring Taco Bell to Keyser. I love their food so much and I would be so happy. I think we should get rid of KFC because it is gross and greasy. Everything taste like fish now and the fish now and the fries are so greasy they drip.

9/21/07- Continuing with the food theme: Have you ever eaten octopus? Would you?
No I have never eaten octopus. I don't think I would ever eat it unless I was given money . I don't think I could stand the little suction cups. It seems like it would be rubbery.

9/24/07- Are you (or were you) nervous to get your driver's license?
I'm not really that nervous. I have driven with alot of different people so I don't really get nervous when I drive with other people. I have also driven many different cars.

9/25/07- Is punishing the entire class for the transgressions of a few fair? Is it effective?
I don't think punishing everyone is fair. The people that caused the transgression should be the only ones to get in trouble. Sure it might be effecitive to punish everyone, but it's not fair to everyone else.

9/26/07- Video games: Which one has frittered the most of your life away? (Not your favorite, necessarily, just the one you've played the most.)
I've played The Sims the longest out of every game I have ever played. I could sit there for hours and not even know it. It is fun making the little people do things you would never do in real life.

9/27/07- Video games: Which one is the most fun to watch others play?
I think any of the Need For Speed games are the funnest to watch others play. I like to watch the different skills the people can use while driving the car. I also like to watch them customize thier car.

9/10- Comment on the Salty hamberger story.
I think that it's stupid all together. I don't think it would be the workers fault because she just listened to the manager and kept cooking them. If anyone should be arrested it should be the manager.

9/11- Do you think 9/11 happened as reported, or was/is there a sinster conspiracy/coverup?
I think 9/11 happened as reported because there were to many people there in real life to cover anything up. I think America was in to much of a panic to think to cover anything up. I think it was just an awful thing that happened to alot of good people.

9/12- Would you concider Britney Spears fat?
No I would never consider Britney fat! She looks normal now and not like she has an eating disorder like most Americans like to see with celebrities. She has had two kids and still has an awsome body! No way would I ever see her as fat.

9/13- Do you prefer this years "enrichment" block to last year's study hall/tutoring?
I liked last years study hall because we had time to relax after lunch. This year we have to go right back to classes and work. The only thing I like about the enrichment is I can usually get my homework done.

9/14- "Cheaters never prosper" True statement?
I think in most conditions it is true. If you cheat on your tests and then when your final comes you won't know anything. If you cheat at a football game though you will win and its just another victory under your belt. It's still not right though.

9/17- It is better for your location (house, classroom, etc.) to be too cold or too hot?
I love hot weather. I would rather be too hot then too cold. I hate waking up and it being freezing cold. It makes me just want to lay in my bed under the covers all day.

9/18- Invent a new candy bar. Describe its composition and name it.
I would invent a candy bar that you would have to keep frozen. It would have black raspberry icecream in it. The outer layer would just be chocolate. I would name it Black Raspberry Dream.

9/19- Continuing with the food themes, which McDonalds item should be permanently removed from the menu?
I think that the Big Mac should be taken off the menu because they are big and they seem like they would be really bad for you. Also I think that Fries should be taken off because they are a heart attack waiting to happen. They should also take off Chiken Selects because they are greasy and they should be grilled.

9/4-In honor (sort of) of the holiday whats the worst kind of labor?

I think the worst kind of labor is where you have to work long hard hours. I think working at some kind of factory would be the worst! You would get treated bad, have to work really hard, and work really bad hours. I would never want to work at a factory!

9/5- Should Michael Vick ever be allowed to return to the NFL?

He may be good and I would understand if it was one mistake but he has made multiple mistakes. I don't think he should ever be allowed back to the NFL. I think anyone who is mean to animals should go to jail.

9/6- Which city/landmark in the "mainland" U.S. would you most want to visit? Explain.

I would want to go to L.A. I think it would be great to go and see how fast pace it is there compared to our slow life style here. And I would also want to shop!

9/7- Two weeks in: grade the new principals. (Twigg and Saterday)

I haven't met Mrs. Twigg yet so I can't really grade her. My first impression of just seeing her was that she could probably be mean if she had to. Mr. Saterday is pretty cool though. He seems pretty nice so i give him an A.

8/28/07- Will the new lunchline set-up succeed? Discuss
I think that the lunch set-up worked I just don't like it at all! It's alot shorter and I feel like I don't have enough time to eat. I hate being rushed. Now it's just like the middle school. I think we deserve a longer lunch.
8/30/07- Beans or Franks? Discuss
I like Franks better than beans. Franks are better because who doesn't like to eat something made up of mistery meat. Beans are just weird smelling and nasty.
8/31/07- What was your most memorable summer adventure?
My most memorable memory would have to be going to the beach with my whole family. One night my mom, aunt, and I stayed up all night and talked about thier mom and dad which past away when they were little. I learned things about my grandparents that I would have never Known.

1. Why did I decide to read this book?
I decided to read this book because it will make you smile, laugh, and cry. I am a hopeless romantic and this is one of the best love stories ever in my opinion.

2. Plot summary (avoiding major spoilers when possible):
Jamie Sullivan was the preachers daughter, a loner who carried a bible everywhere she went. Landon Carter was popular and was a big guy on campus. But when he couldn't find a date for the dance he didn't want to be the one left cleaning the bathrooms so he asked Jamie. What he didn't know was that he would fall in love with her and his life would change forever!

3. What is the setting, and why is it important to the novel? The setting is 1958 at Beaufort, North Carolina by the ocean. A beautiful place where you have the sweet smell of pine tree and salt water. The setting is important because they witness a beautiful sunset together and the weather impacts Jamie because the colder it gets the weaker she grows.

4. Who are the main characters, and what roles do they play in the novel?
Jamie Sullivan is the sweet heart that all the partents love and the kids can't stand. She works at at the orphanage in Morehead City and reads to the children. She would give anything for anyone and she always believes everything is in the lord's plan.
Landon Carter is best friends with Eric Hunter the most popular boy at school so that makes him cool too. Him and his friends would sneak out of thier houses at night and eat boiled peanuts in the grave yard and back then it was a really bad thing to do. So to sum it up he was the bad boy in town.

5. What is/are the main conflict(s) in the novel?
Jamie makes Landon promise not to fall in love with her yet he does and then she begins to grow weak and Landon learns that she had cancer. She is dieing slowly but he knows she doesn't have that much time left and he feels thats not long enough.

6. Describe the climax of the novel.
The climax is when she finally tells why she has been sick lately and not gotten better. Then she tells him she is dieing from cancer.

7. What is the significance of the book's title? Is the title appropriate, or would I change it to something else?
A walk to remember means the long hard walk Jamie made down the aisle at thier wedding. Landon thought to himself that her walk was probably the most difficult walk anyone ever had to make because she was so sick and weak. In every way, it was a walk to remember.

8. What is my opinion about this book? Why (give specifics)?
This is the best book I have ever read in my life. I love it because it shows that there still can be love like that out in the world. It makes me hope that one day I will find someone like that and it makes me believe there are still people out there with all the love in the world in thier heart. You are a blessed person to find a special person and when you read about that kind of love it makes your heart beat fast.
