1. Why did you decide to read this book?
I decided to read this book because I have planed to read all Nicholas Sparks book's and this one was next on my list. Nicholas is an amazing author and he entrances me in all of his books. I fall in love with every one of his books so I knew I had to read this one. He makes books that makes me believe in love. I never want his books to end. I love the way the make me feel when I'm done reading them.

Jeremy Marsh is a big Journalist from New York and has just had his big break and was on a show called Primetime Live on the network ABC. His next assignment was to travel to Boone Creek, North Carolina to record lights in a cemetery that everyone believed were ghosts. He has finally landed his dream after working many hard years. He was so devoted to his job, that years before his wife divorced him because of his job's demanding schedules. She also left him because he was unable to have children. He never would have dreamed he would have met the love of his life in such a little boring town. Lexie Darnell tried hard not the let Jeremy into her life because she had already fallen in love once before with a big shot city guy. She wasn't willing to give up the town she loved for New York. It was up to him to make the move if he really loved her. He proved his love and they learned that miracles do happen to those who believe when Lexie learns she is pregnant.
3. What is the setting, and why is it important to the novel?
The setting is a small town called Boone Creek in North Carolina. It is winter and is cold and it is always foggy in Boone Creek. The Fog causes mysterious lights in a cemetery in Boone Creek and that's the reason Jeremy travels to the little town. If Jeremy wouldn't have taken on the story of the mysterious lights he would have never met Lexie. He also wouldn't have learned that in life you need to make sacrifices for the people you love.
4. Who are the main characters, and what roles do they play in the novel?
Jeremy Marsh is a big Journalist From New York. He Travels to the small town Boone Creek to right an article. Lexie Darnell is from Boone Creek and a the librarian. She is a beautiful woman that doesn't let people in very easy. She meets Jeremy and they both can feel something between them, but Lexie doesn't want to let Jeremy in. Doris McClellan is Lexie's Grandmother, but is her mom figure because her parent were killed in a car crash when she was a child. Doris knows that Jeremy and Lexie will end up together because she sees the love between them.
5. What is/are the main conflict(s) in the novel?
The main conflict is that Lexie doesn't want to move from Boone Creek and she doesn't think Jeremy would give up his glamorous life in New York. She just automatically shuts him out and just wants to be friends. He fights for her because just spending a little bit with her he realises she is the one. When she lies about wanting to marry someone else Jeremy returns home because he things she doesn't want him when he finishes his story. But when Doris shows up in New York and tells her how miserable Lexie has been since he left. He goes back for her and show her he was there to stay.
6. Describe the climax of the novel?
The climax is when Jeremy returns to Boone Creek for Lexie. He didn't know if she was going to love him or send him back home. He didn't know if she would be mad for him leaving and not want to see him ever again. He nearly misses his flight and when he returns to Boone Creek he can't find Lexie anywhere. Then it comes to him that she is at the Cemetery and that is where he meets her again and she finally lets him love her.
7. What is the significance of the book's title? is the title appropriate, or would I change it to something else?
No I wouldn't change the title. As always Nicholas always has the perfect titles. I always wonder what the title of his books mean, but by the end I totally understand why it is called the name it is. In this book Jeremy doesn't believe in miracles and he believes everything is caused for a reason. But he learns to be a believer when he learns Lexie is pregnant when the doctors said he couldn't have children.
8. What is my opinion about this book? Why (give specifics)
This is a great book. I wish they would make it into a movie because it would be a great one. I think this is my favorite book from Nicholas Sparks yet. I never wanted his book to end because I fell in love with the story. I love how I can always relate to his characters and he writes about is the kind of love I dream for someday.
